THE CONTEXT

A novel financial product in a risk-averse market, trying to win the trust of brokers.

Generation Home is an affordability-focused lender with a genuinely innovative proposition: using friends and family contributions as ‘boosters’ to enhance a buyer’s borrowing capacity. For first-time buyers, remortgagers and other homemovers facing affordability constraints, the product unlocks options that the mainstream market cannot offer.
The challenge was not the product. The challenge was explaining it — clearly, credibly and consistently — to a broker audience trained to be sceptical of complexity and cautious about anything unfamiliar. Mortgage brokers need to understand a product well enough to recommend it with confidence. If the materials do not earn that confidence, the product does not get recommended.
Generation Home had accumulated a wide range of marketing and broker-facing materials over time. These needed to be consolidated, elevated and relaunched in coordination with a full rebrand and website overhaul — with a hard deadline attached to the marketing strategy relaunch.

THE CHALLENGE

Complex product. Multiple stakeholder types. High technical content. Tight timeline.

The brief required navigating several layers of complexity simultaneously. The product itself is sophisticated — involving affordability mechanics, regulatory considerations and a novel use of third-party funds that required careful, precise explanation. The audience is sceptical by professional default. And the volume of materials required across multiple formats and channels was substantial.

In financial services, marketing collateral is not just communication. It is a credibility signal. Brokers use the quality and clarity of the materials they receive to form a view of the lender behind them. Poor materials undermine trust in the product itself.

THE NURTURA APPROACH

Structured consultation, staged delivery, and a single messaging architecture across every asset.

Nurtura began with a series of structured online consultations with the Generation Home team — not to gather a brief, but to build a shared understanding of the product’s complexity, the broker audience’s knowledge levels, and the messaging framework that would need to hold across every piece of collateral produced.

From those conversations, Nurtura established a clear style guide, tone of voice and messaging hierarchy before producing a single word of content. This foundation work is what allowed a high volume of materials to be produced quickly without inconsistency — every asset drawing from the same strategic core.

How the programme was structured
01

Structured discovery consultations to map product complexity, audience knowledge and messaging requirements

02

Style guide, tone of voice and messaging framework defined and signed off before content production began

03

Batch delivery process designed to maintain messaging consistency at volume and hit the relaunch timeline

04

Close coordination with Generation Home’s in-house marketing team at every stage

05

Technical content reviewed for broker-accessible clarity without sacrificing precision

06

Deliverables sequenced to support the phased website and marketing strategy rollout

THE RESULTS

A full suite of broker-ready marketing infrastructure delivered in three months.

Working in close coordination with the in-house team, Nurtura delivered a comprehensive overhaul of Generation Home’s broker-facing and consumer-facing marketing materials on schedule, in line with the wider relaunch. Every deliverable was built from the same messaging foundation — producing a consistent credibility across the full suite that the previous materials had lacked.

All delivered over a 3-month period, coordinated around the Generation Home website and marketing strategy relaunch.

3 months

to deliver a full overhaul of broker and consumer marketing infrastructure, from discovery to final delivery — in line with the wider relaunch deadline.

What this Demonstrates

This engagement illustrates several aspects of how Nurtura works — and why the approach it takes to financial services content matters.

Credibility is built before a sale, not during it

Brokers make product recommendations based on confidence. That confidence is formed through the quality and clarity of materials they receive. Every piece of collateral Nurtura produced was built to give brokers the understanding they needed to recommend Generation Home’s products with authority.

Volume at quality requires a strategic foundation

Producing a high volume of consistent, high-quality materials across multiple formats is only possible if the messaging architecture is established before production begins. The structured discovery phase is what made the batch delivery process work.

Complex financial products require precision, not simplification

The temptation with novel financial products is to simplify until accuracy is lost. Nurtura’s approach was to establish a shared understanding of the technical reality first, then find the language that made that reality accessible to a broker audience without distorting it.

Working alongside in-house teams, not replacing them

Nurtura operates as an extension of the client’s marketing function — close enough to understand the detail, positioned to deliver the output without creating dependency or displacing internal ownership of the brand.

RELEVANT TO

This case study is particularly relevant to financial services firms, mortgage lenders, specialist lending businesses and other regulated companies where complex products need to be communicated clearly and credibly to intermediary audiences.
